10 Principles for Standing for Right

Along with all the memories from these past two weeks, the Lord has taught me a lot and worked in my heart. The theme for this week was The Biblical Leader and His Fight. Dr. Matt Williams came and did the Leadership Training. The Lord just really showed me what kind of a leader He wants me to be and that I need to step up.

One of the sessions was on the 10 Principles for Standing for Right:

1. Show you love God; do what He says.
1 John 5:2,3
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

2. Just say NO!
Proverbs 1:10
"My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."

3. Watch out for red flags!
Proverbs 27:12
"A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished."

4. Let God cover sin!
Proverbs 28:13
"He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:
but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."

5. Keep a clean conscience.
Acts 24:16
"And herein do I exercise myself,
to have always void of offence toward God, and toward men."

6. You can't stay neutral.
Proverbs 28:4
"They that forsake the law praise the wicked:
but such as keep the law contend with them."

7. Silence can mean approval.
Proverbs 17:15
"He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just,
even they both are an abomination to the Lord."

8. Give your friends a choice.
Proverbs 17:17
"A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity."

9. Discipline is good, not bad.
Proverbs 19:25
"Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware:
and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge."

10. Two or three can help!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Two are better than one: because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth:
for he hath not another to help him up.
Again, if two lie together, then they have heat; but how can one be warm alone?
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him;
and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."

The Lord just really opened my eyes and showed me that I need to step up as a leader. Please pray for me as I strive to be a better leader in my home, church, and community and that I might bring people to Christ.
