What's for supper?
This was a question that both Jimmy and Irma asked me when Mom and Dad went shopping.
Well, since we didn't have any frozen pizzas,
I decided to venture out and try a new recipe.
None of the recipes that I had on hand sounded good,
so I went on Pinterest
(oh...I just LOVE that place!)
and found this recipe below.
Ingredients
1/3 cup pasta
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or somewheres round there, I'm a good Wisconsin girl and I didn't measure my cheese ;)
Directions
Place the pasta and water in a large coffee mug or bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, then stir. Be prepared to have the water overflow while it is in the microwave. Repeat for at least 2-4 more minutes (when I made it, it took 8-10 minutes for the noodles to get done). If needed, you can add more water a teaspoon at a time. The water should absorb completely and the pasta will be cooked thoroughly.
Remove it from the microwave and stir in the milk and cheese. Microwave for 1 more minute. Stir in cheese and enjoy! (you can find the original recipe here)
What's for dessert?
That was the next question that I heard from them. So, again I went on Pinterest and found the following recipe for a single serve brownie.
Ingredients
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
a pinch of salt
2 Tbsp canola oil (or any other vegetable oil)
2 Tbsp milk, coffee, or water
Directions
In a heatproof mug, stir together the dry ingredients until no lumps remain. Stir in the oil and milk until you have a thick paste.
Microwave on high for a minute, checking it after 30 seconds - it will be done when it's springy on top but still a bit gooey. Top with ice cream and eat warm. Enjoy! (you can find the original recipe here )
