Laredo, Texas Missions Trip: Only in Texas...

Only in Texas can you get locked in your own house. Yes, you read that right - we got locked IN our house. Friday morning we were going to get up early and clean the Shepherd's Inn before it got too hot. So, Mrs. Zupan and I got up, got dressed and ate breakfast then we went to leave the house and the door wouldn't open. No matter which way Mrs. Zupan turned the door knob, it just wouldn't open. So then Mr. Zupan tried because he thought that the door was still locked...but he couldn't get it open either! Mr. Zupan tried to pry the door open with a butter knife but that didn't work. So we ended up calling Brother Bart to come down to the rescue (because of course Mr. Zupan's tools were in the van - on the other side of the door). Brother Bart tried opening it from the outside and it still didn't work. Then we had another problem, Brother Bart had a screw driver but we had to figure out how to get it in the house. You see, the only time this house is used is when the Zupans stay in it so the windows and the other door have probably never been opened. So to get the screw driver in the house, Mr. Zupan and Brother Bart had to pry a window open which took about 10-20 minutes. Then the screw driver was strong enough to pry the door open and we went on our way. By the time we got up to the Shepherd's Inn to clean, there were only about 4 rooms left. After we were done cleaning, we cleaned up and then Mrs. Waldrop took us out for lunch and shopping. We had a ton of fun. Then we ended the day by meeting the guys at Danny's for supper.

I love how you can see the sheer determination in his face to get the door open.

FINALLY out of the house to do some cleaning.
First time eating at Chick-Fil-A. Boy was it good!
